“The Book of Billy centers on a group of four kids who were best friends during their youth, all of whom were molested in some way by the priest in their church. Fast forward thirty years, and one of the friends has committed suicide, bringing the remaining three friends back together at his funeral. Angry that the police haven’t been able to convict their tormentor and infuriated by the church’s complete lack of empathy for the people who have been harmed by the clergy, one of the friends takes matters into his own hands by hunting down their abuser and trying to exact justice on his own.”
